Koobface is BACK

The Koobface worm is back in action, the worm which hits Facebook and Myspace users by turning their computer into a spam bot.

The Koobface worm sends out messages to Facebook users inviting them to view a video, clicking the link spreads the virus. Once your computer is infected it will gather sensitive information like passwords and credit-card details.

Koobface is an anagram of Facebook.

If you do accidentally click this link because it looks like it comes from a friend you will be asked to watch a "secret video by Tom".

When you try and play the video you will be asked to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. This is when you download the virus by clicking that link.

To get the latest version of Flash Player go to Adobe Flash Player.

If you have already watched the video or have been told by your friends your system is sending spam emails, run a virus check on your system using your existing anti-virus software or download one from our site.

But really you should not click links in emails unless you have requested the link to be sent.
